Me and my fiancé, Mr. Pryor went to our first concert of the year on January 19th. We were blessed with Erykah Badu tickets! (S/O) to my boss Cody!) Anyway, we mad a pact to go to every thing we get free tickets for this year and this was the first test to our new commitment.

There was a snow storm the night before (or the morning of) and that made the decision kind of hazy. When he asked me if we were still going I knew that I had to say yes. If I told him that it was up to him then we would've done that back and forth thing, sitting in the house and wishing that we had've went.

We ended up going and having a decent time. My grandma was there with her husband for his birthday. They both seemed slightly intoxicated and very sweaty for some reason. Mr. Pryor ordered a Mike's Hard Lemonade and me a Tito's with lemonade. Mine was a small watered down cup, while his was a large can that got him "blem" to both of our surprise.

We didn't stay long. Erykah didn't perform many songs that we know. Granted I don't know too many songs of hers. She opened up with a short rendition of "Tyrone" and later performed "On and On" but then that was it. The most exciting part of the concert happened while I was in the bathroom, apparently. Badu was said to be "defending" the infamous R. Kelly by stating, "What if one of the people who was assaulted by R Kelly becomes an offender? We gonna crucify them too?"

People boo'd at the mention of Kelly but that was twisted into people booing her. However, I can't really add too much to that since I didn't hear it and Mr. Pryor failed to mention this even happening. I only found out because my cousin tagged me in it on Facebook. My reaction to this was me cussing him out and calling him fake for not giving me the scoop.

All and all it was a cool concert experience. We found street parking about two blocks away that we only had to pay about $4 for, instead of the parking lot that was 20 bucks! We had to walk in the cold, windy weather. It was worth it though, especially for the time being spent with my love.
